Festive Apple Cider

Ingredients

1 gallon unfiltered apple juice or apple cider
2 large organic apples sliced
4 cinnamon sticks
4 star anise
2 rosemary sprigs 
- Optional: bourbon or mezcal for an extra kick

Method

  1. In a large saucepan, combine the apple juice, apples, cinnamon sticks, rosemary and star anise.

  2. Place the saucepan over medium heat and bring the mixture to a gentle simmer.
    Allow the cider to simmer for about 20 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld together.

  3. If desired, add a splash of bourbon or mezcal to spike the cider and give it that extra festive touch.

  4. Remove the saucepan from heat and strain the cider.

  5. Serve the Festive Apple Cider hot in mugs or refrigerate it for a refreshing cold beverage. Cheers!
