Pear Tart
Hello my lovelies! Hope your Thanksgiving was warm and cozy just like mine was surrounded by loved ones and delicious food. I am in New Jersey currently visiting my family. Yesterday, we celebrated Thanksgiving at my sister house and we prepared a feast. I was in charge of desserts and veggies. Sharing my Pear Tart Recipe from last night. It was a huge hit. This tart is completely vegan and absolutely delicious. Here is a recipe.
Ingredients
1 package puff pastry dough thawed but still cold (use both sheets) I used @pepperidgefarm brand because it’s vegan.
4 pears Bosc Pears
1/2 cup vegan goat cheese or vegan cream cheese. I used @treeline_cheese brand.
2 tbsp of brown sugar
2 tbsp of melted vegan butter
1/4 cup pure maple syrup + 2 tsp of pure vanilla extract
2 tbsp of plant based milk for the wash to brush on top with melted butter.
Handful of crushed pistachios
Method
Preheat the oven at 375 F
Cut the pears in half, remove the core and stem with a small metal spoon or pairing knife. Slice each half into 8-10 segments. Keep the segments together until you are ready to place them on the pastry.
Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper. Place the thawed puff pastry sheet. Connect two sheets together or bake the tart in two separate baking sheets. Use fork around the pastry dough by gently pressing along the edges of the dough to create a 1/2" border.
Spread the vegan cheese cheese or goat cheese gently on the puff pastry. Sprinkle the brown sugar on top, then place the pears on top of pastry. Repeat with the rest of the sliced pears. Brush the pears with the melted butter, sprinkle a tablespoon of brown sugar on top. Brush the edges of the pastry with melted butter and milk mixture. Bake the tart for 25 min or until the pastry is golden brown. Take the tart out and brush it with maple vanilla mixture all over. Sprinkle with crushed pistachios. Enjoy!
