Vegan Rustic Pear Galette
Vegan Rustic Pear Galette my family asks me to make every week. This elegant yet rustic dessert only requires 5 ingredients if you use store bought pie crust. So effortless and delicious. Give it a try and let me know what you think.
Ingredients
Vegan pie crust (you can find it at your local whole foods or any major supermarket)
4 medium size pears, Bartlett pears work the best for this recipe.
1/3 cup brown sugar
2 tsp of cinnamon
1/4 cup plant based milk
Method
Preheat the oven to 380 F degrees. Line a sheet pan with parchment paper. Roll the pie crust dough slightly larger than 10 by 14-inches. Sprinkle the dough with 1 tbsp of brown sugar and 2 taps of cinnamon. Cut the pears in half through the stem. Remove the stems and cores with a sharp knife and a melon baller. Slice the pears crosswise in 1/4-inch thick slices. Arrange the pear slices around the center overlapping, leaving about 2 inches of dough on all sides. Fold the dough overhang over the edges of the fruit. Brush the edges of the galette with some plant based milk. Sprinkle the edges with 1 tbsp of brown sugar sugar.
Bake for 45 minutes to 1 hour, until the pastry is golden. Dust the galette with some vanilla sugar or confectioners sugar which is optional. Enjoy warm!
